tL's phOTOGRAPH_oF_tHE_dAY #1900 - These anticrepuscular rays over the horizon are not normally spotted. The rays of the setting sun (to the west) are intersecting all the way to the other side of the spherical sky (to the east); an effect caused by parallel shafts of sunlight from holes in the clouds to the west. The convergence creates this perspective all across the dome above, establishing a vanishing point at infinity 180 degrees away from the setting sun.
