The last mention of the 30+ year old rock song lyric still heard on classic rock music stations; a sleepytime anthem for aimless 70’s wanderers.

The tune, written by Jackson Browne & Glenn Fry and sung by The Eagles climbed to #12 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The tribute in brick, concrete, souvenirs & wind are the four corners of Winslow Arizona and remain another cool stop all along Route 66.

The famous lyrics include the verse ... “Lighten up while you still can. Don't even try to understand. Just find a place to make your stand and take it easy.”

tL's phOTOGRAPH_oF_tHE_dAY #1313 - Take It Easy - the (SouthWest) Corner of Winslow Arizona. Take 2.

“Take It Easy”, written by Jackson Browne (and Glenn Frey). It was The Eagles’ first single, released on May 1, 1972, becoming their signature song.

Jackson began writing "Take It Easy" in 1971 for his own debut album. His friend and then-neighbor Frey heard an early version and liked it so much that Browne gave it to him for his new band - The Eagles.

Glenn Frey sings the lead vocals, with Don Henley singing harmony at the end of the verse "Though we will never be here again.” .

."Take It Easy" is set in the city of Winslow, Arizona, which responded by erecting a life-size bronze statue & mural commemorating the song, at the Standin' On The Corner Park at the intersection of Route 66 & Kinsley Avenue.

The famous lyrics include the verse ... “Well I'm running down the road trying to loosen my load, got a world of trouble on my mind. Lookin' for a lover who won't blow my cover, she's so hard to find. Take it Easy, Take it Easy. Don't let the sound of your own wheels make you crazy.”

tL's phOTOGRAPH_oF_tHE_dAY #1312 - Take It Easy - the (NorthWest) Corner of Winslow Arizona. Take 1.

“Take It Easy” is one of the “Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s 500 Songs that Shaped Rock & Roll’, released by the ‘Eagles’ in 1972.

The second verse of "Take It Easy" is set in the city of Winslow, Arizona, which responded by erecting a life-size bronze statue & mural commemorating the song, at the Standin' On The Corner Park at the intersection of Route 66 & Kinsley Avenue.

The trompe-l'œil mural on the wall behind the statue is that of a fake storefront, and includes the reflection of a red Ford pickup truck driven by a blonde-haired woman. The second floor of the mural features an eagle perched in one of the windows.

The famous lyrics include the verse ... “Well, I'm a standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona and such a fine sight to see. It's a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed Ford slowin' down to take a look at me."
