tL's phOTOGRAPH_oF_tHE_dAY #1931 - Arizona has a lot of desert and the desert is a dusty place. Arid regions experience haboobs, which can be frightening ... and beautiful.
The Sonoran Desert, where dust storms are common, reaches from Tucson to Phoenix, into Mexico & all points in between. When the downdraft of a thunderstorm reaches the ground, dry, loose sand from the deserts create a wall of sediment. Eye and respiratory system protection are advised.
West 6th, the high-rise building on the left of the haboob’s dust wall, stands 30 floors tall.
