TEDD LiGGETT's phOTOGRAPH_oF_tHE_dAY #1998 \ cAROUSEL #1 of 6


tL's phOTOGRAPH_oF_tHE_dAY #1998 - In 1913 this C.W. Parker Carousel was built for Fred Shew of Grandview Iowa. Fred paid $3184.43. The lead horse has the following carved on the breast plate: “Built especially for Fred Shew”.

Photographed here is where Grandpa got acquainted with Grandma (or where Great Grandpa got acquainted with Great Grandma).

C.W. Parker Carousel #118 has a 40 foot diameter and was named the “Special Two Abreast” edition. It was built at the Parker Carousel Factory in Leavenworth Kansas and is on exhibition in the '1st City of Kansas'. This Carousel has 24 horses, 2 rabbits, 3 ponies, a chariot and a spinning Lover’s Tub.
