tL's phOTOGRAPH_oF_tHE_dAY #724 - a Buffalo Bill reenactor. Born William Cody in 1846 he became known as a rough-hewn outdoorsman and one of the most colorful figures of the American Old West, most famously for the shows he organized with cowboy & indian themes. Buffalo Bill’s early exploits began in the Iowa Territory and he went on to be an American soldier in the 7th Kansas Calvary Regiment, a bison hunter, a wagon master, a frontier scout, trapper, bull whacker, a rider for the Pony Express, a rancher and a recipient of the Medal of Honor, In his later years, before his passing in 1917, he became a staunch supporter for the rights of the American Indian and women.
