tL's phOTOGRAPH_oF_tHE_dAY #1952 - Louis Thursby arrived here in 1856 and became the first settlers to make a permanent home at Blue Spring. During the early years of Florida development, the steamboat was the only link to the outside world. The boats landed at Enterprise on Lake Monroe, bringing mail and supplies for the few cracker families in the area.
